Your email address is maintained in two different locations by AHBC. These addresses are independent from one another and may be the same or different.

Managing your email address with AHBC for members

Your membership email address is the one you provided on your membership application or shared with the membership chair

When you log on the AHBC cyclearlington.com website, you can access portions of the website which are only available to AHBC members. This includes your membership information

  1. Use the Login button to log into your account via the Sign In Button. You need your email address and password. If you don't know your password, the membership chair can reset it for you, Send an email to membership@cyclearlington.com and ask for your password, be patient we are volunteers, this might take a few days. After the Membership Chair gives you a password, we recommend changing it so only you know the password.
  2. You can change your email address by asking the Membership Chair to set your new email address with your membership. Before changing your email address, delete any future events you have in the calendar and re-add them after logging in with your new email address
  3. Click on your name and then click on Your Account
  4. Near the bottom of the page you can change your password

Managing your email address with the ahbccyclists yahoo group for members and for non-members

Your Yahoo group email address is the one receive or send group email via ahbccyclists@yahoogroups.com

The Yahoo Group is self-managed; Yahoo does not provide a way for anyone to manage the members email addresses other than the individual group members managing their own group subscriptions

You can be a member of the Yahoo Group without being a member of AHBC

If you do not have a Yahoo ID, then you manage your membership in the group as follows

To add your new email address to the group:

  1. Send an empty email from your new email address to ahbccyclists-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
  2. You will receive a confirmation message that you must reply to
  3. One of the AHBC Yahoo Group moderators will approve your new email address after you reply to the confirmation message. Be patient we are volunteers, this might take a few days

To remove your old email address from the group:

  1. Send an empty email from your old email address to ahbccyclists-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
  2. You will receive a confirmation message that you should reply to
  3. Group moderator will see your unsubscribe message after you reply to the confirmation message

If you do have a Yahoo ID, then you manage your membership in the group as follows

  1. Log into your yahoo account
  2. Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/ahbccyclists/info
  3. Click on Membership
  4. Click on Edit Membership

If you are not sure whether you have a Yahoo ID, then the membership chair can look it up for you and let you know. Send an email to membership@cyclearlington.com and ask for your Yahoo ID. Be patient we are volunteers, this might take a few days.

If you have forgotten the password for your Yahoo ID, then use Yahoo to reset your password. Only Yahoo can help you. AHBC cannot help retrieve or modify your Yahoo password

Missing Email Messages from the ahbccyclists Yahoo Group

From time to time members report that they are not receiving email messages from the ahbccyclists yahoo group. What should you do if you haven't received any email from the group?

  • Look in your spam folder
  • Look in your spam folder
  • Look in your spam folder
  • Now that you've checked your spam folder and are sure it isn't there, search your email for the phrase: ahbccyclists
  • If you have a yahoo id, log into yahoo.com and look at https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/ahbccyclists where all email ever sent to the group is available
  • Ask the membership chair to check the bouncing email in the yahoo group and see if your email is stuck in transit
  • We know that some members have had issues with receiving email from the group and have never been able to diagnose the core issue. Talk to the most IT literate person you know and see if they can help you diagnose the issue.
