Club Officers for 2020

At the September meeting, we will finalize the slate of officers for 2020. (Election will be held at the October meeting.) Please consider serving your club by taking on one of these positions:
President (The president shall be the chief executive of the AHBC, charged with the duty of supervising all of its functions. The president shall be ex officio, a member of all committees.)
Vice President (In the president’s absence or in the event of his or her inability to act, the vice-president shall perform the duties of the president. The vice-president may also serve as the ride chair.)
Treasurer (The treasurer shall collect all membership dues and shall have the care and custody of all funds and inventory of property of the AHBC. The treasurer shall propose an annual budget for Board approval at the January Board meeting and shall report finances at each regularly scheduled Board meeting. The treasurer shall provide the president with copies of bank statements on a quarterly basis for review. The treasurer shall deposit all funds in the name of the AHBC in such bank or banks as may be designated by the officers.)
Secretary (The secretary shall conduct the correspondence of the AHBC, issue notices of and keep minutes of all meetings of the AHBC, be the custodian of the records, keep the current copy of the by-laws and discharge other duties as may be assigned to the secretary, by the president.)

Not ready to be an officer yet but would consider it in the future? Please respond accordingly and/or consider becoming a board member-at-large to see how decisions are made and business is conducted in the club.

Program: Cycling and the Law: Protecting Your Rights

Attorneys Matt Johnson and Andrzej Brzoznowski will give a free presentation for the Arlington Heights Bicycle Club on bicycle law, addressing what to do in the event of a crash from a legal perspective, and how to determine whether you need to involve a lawyer after getting hit. A Q&A session will follow the presentation, so that members can ask questions regarding their own experiences on the road and discuss the law in Illinois as applied to cyclists. Matt and Andrzej are attorneys with the Freeman Kevenides Law Firm – a firm focused on representing and advocating for injured cyclists, and the Illinois representative for the nationwide Bike Law network of attorneys.
