Our special guest speaker will be Ed Barsotti of Ride Illinois (formerly League of Illinois Bicyclists.) In addition, we will enjoy some tasty refreshments and have an opportunity to sign up to volunteer to work at the Bike Swap and at the Arlington 500. And, yes, your membership renewal (due March 31) will also be cheerfully accepted. Ed will tell us about Ride Illinois' latest advocacy activities, including new state laws, requests for bike-friendly road projects and motorist signage, and proliferation of its BikeSafetyQuiz.com learning resource to driver education programs and more. Ed will also describe the Grand Illinois Bike Tour, a six-day event held each June. We will also get to meet Terri Rivera, Ride Illinois' new executive director.
