AHBC Meetings

Membership Meetings are Held at Pioneer Park at 7:00 p.m., generally on the fourth Wednesday of each month except as noted below. Meetings are not held in June, July, August, November, and December. Members are also invited to join the Board meetings, generally held on the second Wednesday of each month when necessary. Meetings are announced in the Google Group email.

Wednesday, January 26, at 7 P.M. we will convene for our first AHBC member meeting of 2022, and we hope to see you there! Note that we are back at our Pioneer Park meeting location at 500 S. Fernandez. Our very special guest speaker will be Armaline Mirretti, an avid cyclist and League of American Bicyclists Certified Cycling Instructor. As a certified instructor, she is just the person we need to give us some critical safe cycling information before we start the bike season in earnest. Some will be review, but you may be surprised at what new tips you learn.

Of course there will also be some tasty treats at the meeting, as well as the latest information on our upcoming events.

Be prepared to show your vaccination card if requested by the Park District staff, and plan to wear a mask.

March 25, 2020 Board Meeting and Program at Pioneer Park Cancelled Our special guest speaker will be Robb Zbierski of Beers and Gears. His intriguing topic is Using Greasy Cheeseburgers and Beers to Hit Your Fitness Goals. With a title like that, it's bound to be a great presentation!

February 26, 2020 Board Meeting and Program at Pioneer Park Physical Therapist, Purwa Bhett, will show us how to avoid as well as deal with cycling injuries.

January 22, 2020 Board Meeting and Program at Pioneer Park Bill and Anne Kragh will present a travelogue about their self-supported tandem bicycle ride following the route of the Underground Railroad. Starting in Mobile Alabama and heading north, this route was a secret route used by slaves heading north to the free states in the years preceding the Civil War.
